LEPs offer unique partnership to support Government's Growth Plan

Local Enterprise Partnerships have put an offer to government that can see them play a central role in the drive for local economic growth as part of the government's wider Growth Plan.

In a paper published today, ‘A Unique Partnership for Economic Growth’ LEPs set out how they can support the government’s economic growth ambitions.  These include supporting local businesses through the cost-of-living-crisis, feeding in unique real time data on business intelligence, creating freeports and investment zones, building rural economies and regional strengths, and delivering current projects that underpin the growth agenda.

Mark Bretton, Chair, LEP Network said:

"Today’s mini-budget and the more substantive budget later this year, present a timely opportunity to set out to government and our stakeholders exactly what the LEP offer is and how England’s LEPs can help drive economic growth and support local businesses as part of the government's Growth Plan.

"It's now all about the drive to boost business-led growth  and investment. LEPs are perfectly placed to support that: empowering local businesses, unleashing private sector investment, and creating investment zones and freeports to help boost investment and jobs in towns and cities across the country."
