The 36 LEPs

There are currently 36 Local Enterprise Partnerships  (LEPs) across England. They are business led partnerships between local authorities and local private sector businesses. They play a central role in determining local economic priorities and undertaking activities to drive economic growth and job creation, improve infrastructure, and raise workforce skills within the local area. LEP boards are led by a business Chair and board members are local leaders of industry (including SMEs), educational institutions and the public sector.  A full list of LEPs is below with a link to their respective websites.

NB: The Chancellor announced in the March 2023 Budget that the government intends for the functions of LEPs to be delivered by local government in the future and the government “is minded” to withdraw central government support for LEPs from April 2024.   The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and the Department for Business and Trade are consulting on these proposals before confirming a final decision.  The government will publish an updated policy paper by summer 2023 confirming what the next steps will be and the LEP Network is now working with government through a series of round tables to manage this process.

Business support:  If you are looking for business funding, support or guidance, please contact your local Growth Hub.  Please use the postcode finder to locate your nearest LEP growth hub.
