ADEPT Autumn Conference 2018

ADEPT Autumn Conference: Shaping places for thriving communities. Preparations for this year’s ADEPT conference are well under way – and we would love to see you there! If you haven't already booked your place, please read on...

Last year’s conference focused on ADEPT’s core purpose: being first for place and fit for the future, examining what the future holds and our role as place shapers. This year we will look at how we actually create those places by delivering sustainable growth for thriving communities.

We're pleased to have secured an exciting line-up of speakers, including:

  • Nathan Baker of the Institution of Civil Engineers talking about the Year of the Engineer
  • Nick Burkitt from the Department for Exiting the EU, on all things Brexit and prospects and priorities for the UK
  • Adrian Brown of Berkeley Group, on the challenges of delivering quality alongside quantity of housing
  • Graham Pendlebury from DfT and Tom Kelly from HS2 on delivering successful, sustainable infrastructure

There’s a varied programme of workshops discussing topics such as the circular economy, the SMART Places research programme and skills for growth. I’m delighted that we are also working with the LEP Network on this year’s programme, with the network taking the lead on the Local solutions to a dynamic national economy plenary session. And look out for the Directors’ Dragons’ Den!

We're very grateful to our sponsors – Ringway, Kier, WSP, Amey, Atkins-SNC Lavalin Group, Volker Highways – whose generous support means attendance fees remain unchanged from the last two years.

The conference is taking place on 22nd and 23rd November at Radisson Blu, Manchester.  More information, including the latest programme, can be found here. You can reserve your place by completing the booking form (download here). If you require further advice or information please email Alison Shea at AlderCross or phone 01244 813335.
