ADEPT is an active and growing organisation, with membership up 30% in the past year (including 13 LEPs). Our members are drawn from ‘Place’ Directors in upper tier local authorities, and Directors / Chief Executives of Local Enterprise Partnerships and commercial partners. Every day our members work to build successful local economies and sustainable communities. Through our boards and working groups, ADEPT provides a unique opportunity to contribute to research and development, examine new approaches and develop policy with colleagues from different professional backgrounds. Current priorities include EU Exit, the Industrial Strategy Green Paper and Housing White Paper alongside growing issues such as air quality, digital provision and energy security.

We operate a unique system of technical working groups, subject and sub-national boards which work to support members by sharing good practice and technical expertise, facilitating strategic thinking and providing networking opportunities (see here for more detail). The sub-national boards meet regularly, discussing issues of national and local interest and attracting high calibre speakers. There are four national Subject Boards – Engineering, Environment, Transport, and Planning, Housing & Regeneration – supported by various technical working groups, some of which operate regionally as well as nationally. The Boards interact regularly with key government departments, agencies and professional bodies; they also organise various technical workshops. We also organise an annual conference, which will be in Manchester on 23/24 November 2017. Last year’s conference was extremely successful, with over 160 delegates and 35+ speakers. All are welcome to attend; ADEPT membership secures a substantial ticket discount.

The LEP membership fee is £210 per year - click here for more information about the benefits of membership and please get in touch if you have any questions.
